Are heated bidets difficult to clean and maintain?

Actually, the design of the bidets makes them easier to clean than standard toilets. The NB-R770 has a convenient "catch plate" that can easily be removed (without the need for tools), facilitating the cleaning process. (Note: The external case of the bidet is constructed from high-grade plastic composite which can be damaged by harsh chemicals and detergents. Therefore, clean the external parts of the unit by using a soft, wet cloth.)

The retractable bidet nozzle also has a self-cleaning function to enhance safe, hygienic use and is coated with a special anti-microbial resin.

Why are bidets recommended by the medical profession and what are the real health benefits?

According to healthcare professionals at Columbia University, bidet use is a much more hygienic alternative to toilet paper use.

Bidets utilize natural water to provide thorough, comfortable cleaning for users. This eliminates the potential of irritation and rashes commonly caused by toilet paper and other conventional hygiene products. Some wipes and toilet tissue even contain chemicals that can further aggravate sensitive areas of the body. For people with gastrointestinal problems, toilet tissue can even make their problems worse. The texture can be rough, and cause discomfort by repeatedly irritating sensitive, inflamed tissues.

The features of the technologically advanced bidet provide more thorough, hands-free cleansing while dramatically reducing the risk of bacterial contamination and painful irritation. In addition, the bidet wash, particularly when in massage mode (available with the HB-R770) not only enhances cleanliness, but promotes increased blood circulation, which is crucial to maintaining good health.
