December 30, 2008 00:12 AM  BY  JEN HALLAM

A bidet toilet offers users several unique health benefits. Although slow to catch on in the states, the health benefits of bidet toilets are selling themselves. More and more users are finding their way to bidet use in their own homes, if for no other reason than the healthy lifestyle it promotes. The Heated Bidetwarm water used in a bidet is germ resistant, cleaner, more sanitary and easier to use than course toilet paper. Experts say bidets are especially beneficial for pregnant women, seniors, the disabled and people with gastrointestinal problems. Physicians prefer patients use water because it is less irritating and the level of cleanliness improves. The hygienic warm water used in a heated bidet toilet provides a more effective way of cleaning for post-delivery or menstruating women, seniors who desire continued independence despite lack of mobility, and anyone suffering from hemorrhoids.

Many physicians will prescribe “sitz” baths for any of the aforementioned ailments as they allow blood to reach the impacted area, which in turn promotes healing and helps with discomfort. A sitz bath is a warm bath that covers the hips and buttocks, allowing the person to soak the specific area. A heated bidet toilet allows the user to do the same thing without immersing themselves fuller into a tub of water.

Using a bidet toilet also reduces the risk of rash or irritation that can result from using toilet paper or wipes which many contain harsh chemicals. The use of a bidet limits the spread of infection and helps prevent urinary tract infections. As you can see the health benefits of a bidet toilet are numerous and worth checking into should your physical condition dictate.
